South Baltimore Learning Center elects new board

The South Baltimore Learning Center (SBLC) has elected the following individuals as officers on its board of directors for 2012-2013:

• President – Anne Heesters Schroth, attorney for Reno and Cavanaugh PLLC in Columbia. A Federal Hill resident, she currently chairs the executive committee and is a past board secretary and past gala co-chair.

• Past President – Barry D. Blumberg, former senior vice president with Bank of America. A Bolton Hill resident, he currently chairs the board development committee.

• Vice President – Ian H. Neuman, principal/project manager of Abbey Drum Co. in Baltimore. A Federal Hill resident, he chairs the building committee and is the current gala co-chair. Previously, he was the board treasurer and chaired the finance committee.

• Secretary – Darlene Davis, an attorney with Ober, Kaler Grimes & Shriver in Baltimore. An Owings Mills resident, she chairs the fund development committee and is a past gala co-chair.

• Treasurer – William Streett Baldwin, a director with Ellin & Tucker, Chartered in Baltimore. A Federal Hill resident, he currently chairs the finance committee.

The South Baltimore Learning Center is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training in addition to career preparation services to educationally disadvantaged adults in the Baltimore area. It has been in operation since 1990 and now serves over 1,000 adults annually.
