WASHINGTON — The former controller of Clyde’s Restaurant Group has pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $650,000 from the company.
Fifty-five-year-old Nancy Preston of Vienna, Va., entered the plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court. She will be sentenced on Dec. 12. Preston also agreed to sign over $258,000 worth of stock awards and options to Clyde’s, and to a forfeiture judgment of nearly $400,000.
According to a statement of offense, Preston, who worked at Clyde’s for nearly 30 years, diverted Clyde’s money to her personal credit card to buy goods for her use.
