Gioioso, founder and president of Mid-Atlantic Properties Inc., has served on the board since 2006. As chairman of Cristo Rey’s buildings and grounds committee, Gioioso provided important counsel regarding selection of the school’s permanent site and a $7.5 million renovation and expansion effort which culminated in the 2010 opening of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Academic Center.
Gioioso founded Mid-Atlantic Properties, a commercial real estate management, investment and development company located in Towson in 1987.
A Towson resident, Gioioso is also a board member of Johns Hopkins-External Affairs, Maryland State Fairgrounds, and GB Charities.
Gioioso succeeds Rev. William J. Watters, SJ, who as founding board chair led the group of civic and business leaders that studied the possibility of establishing a Cristo Rey school in Baltimore City. The board also voted to honor Watters, pastor of St. Ignatius Church in Baltimore City, with the title of emeritus chair.
