Frederick college president ousted after 6 months

FREDERICK — The president of Frederick Community College is being replaced after just six months on the job.

The Frederick News-Post reported Friday that Frederico Talley is being replaced.

College spokesman Mike Pritchard says the board of trustees made the decision following a dispute over an unspecified personnel issue.

Trustee Donald Linton says the board “just thought it was time for a change.”

Board Chairwoman Dixie Miller declined to comment on the matter.

Talley, the former vice president and dean of students at the Leonardtown campus of the College of Southern Maryland, was named president of the college in March. He took office in July and was the college’s eighth president and first black president.

Vice President for Administration Doug Browning will serve as interim president until Talley’s successor is named.
