The Call of Duty Endowment, an Arlington, Va.-based nonprofit organization that helps groups that provide job placement and training services for veterans, said it has awarded a $250,000 grant to Lanham-based Amvets to help it expand its operations in 20 markets around the country.
The funds are part of a $1.1 million program of giving grants to organizations that have the ability to expand their operations by opening new, regional offices that offer services to veterans.
Amvets is a congressionally chartered veterans’ service organization that provides employment assistance and other services to the nation’s military veterans.
