For the fourth consecutive year, Howard County has been ranked as the healthiest county in Maryland, according to a report released Wednesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
The rankings are based on 30 different data points in six areas: mortality, morbidity, health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors; and physical environment.
The 10 healthiest counties in Maryland, in order, are: Howard, Montgomery, Frederick, Queen Anne’s, Carroll, Talbot, St. Mary’s, Calvert, Anne Arundel and Harford. Baltimore city was ranked last, at No. 24.
