New taxis target disabled passengers

Veolia Transportation, the owner of Baltimore’s Yellow Cab Co. and 1010 Sedan, announced the addition of five new taxicabs specially designed to transport individuals with disabilities.

Based on extensive research within the disabled community, the vehicle was custom designed to meet the unique physical needs of those with mobility and other disability issues, as well as the needs of caregivers.

The cab is designed to accommodate two large wheelchairs and three-to-four additional seated passengers. Yellow Cab will have one of the vehicles, and 1010 Sedan, which serves western Baltimore County, will have four.
