The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will receive a $1.5 million federal grant to assist the city of Annapolis with its planned renovation of City Dock.
The Sport Fish Restoration Boating Infrastructure Grant is the maximum allowed under the BIG program, and the largest of its kind ever awarded in Maryland.
The funding will help rebuild the 700 feet of existing deteriorating bulkhead to provide transient docking space, and 80 feet of dingy dock to serve existing moorings.
Utilities service, such as power and water for these facilities will also be replaced. The entire renovation will cost an estimated $4.2 million, with the city of Annapolis contributing $2.7 million.
