Baltimore-based Barcoding Inc. acquires Illinois company

Barcoding Inc., a Baltimore-based company that installs and integrates wireless barcode systems using handheld portable computing devices, said it has acquired Miles Technologies Inc., of Lake Zurich, Ill., in order to increase its presence in the central region of the U.S. Miles Technologies is a provider of barcode and radio-frequency identification equipment and a developer of software applications for warehouse management and asset tracking.

Miles has two offices in the Greater Chicago area and one in St. Louis.

Its 15 employees will become part of Barcoding.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
