McCormick honors 2 high school athletes

McCormick & Co., of Sparks, an international producer of spices, seasonings, flavorings and specialty foods, announced it awarded four-year college scholarships valued at $36,000 each to two Maryland high school seniors.

Sarah Dorl of Dulaney High School and James Frieson of Towson High School are the 70th and 71st recipients of the Charles Perry McCormick Scholarship.

The McCormick Unsung Heroes program started in 1940 to recognize athletes for unselfish team play and highlight the efforts of those who contribute to the success of their teams without acclaim.

Dorl, a basketball player, and Frieson, a football player, were selected from 115 candidates from 73 Baltimore-area public, private, parochial and independent schools.
