MARC, VRE warn of speed restrictions

WASHINGTON — Virginia Railway Express and MARC are warning passengers that travel may be slowed by heat-related speed restrictions.

The temperatures on Wednesday afternoon and evening aren’t expected to be sweltering, but the dramatic warm-up since Tuesday led CSX to impose speed restrictions.

Officials say those restrictions will slow traffic on VRE’s Fredericksburg line and MARC’s Camden and Brunswick lines. MARC’s Penn line will not be affected.
