Another view of Fort McHenry

Want to get a view of Fort McHenry as Francis Scott Key, the author of the Star-Spangled Banner, saw it?

A group of commercial, educational and tourism interests worked together to launch a 45-minute, narrated boat tour of Fort McHenry, during Maryland’s bicentennial celebration of the War of 1812.

Starting June 1, tours will leave hourly on weekends from the Fort McHenry pier, 2400 E. Fort Ave.

The tour was created by a partnership of the Friends of Fort McHenry, Baltimore Water Taxi, Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine and Living Classrooms Foundation, with funding from the Maryland War of 1812 Commission’s Star-Spangled 200 Grant Fund.
