Collins to head Baltimore tourism board

Atwood “Woody” Collins III, a prominent Baltimore banking executive, will become the next chair of the Baltimore Convention and Tourism Board, effective May 17. Collins succeeds Ed Hale, owner of the Baltimore Blast and Hale Properties LLC, who has chaired the board since its formation in 2006.
The Convention and Tourism Board provides oversight to both Visit Baltimore, the city’s convention and out-of-town visitors’ bureau, and the Baltimore Convention Center.
Collins is an executive vice president of M&T Bank Corp.
He has been a member of the Convention and Tourism Board since 2008, serving as the board’s treasurer and head of its finance committee.
