Closing time at the Mechanic

The Morris A. Mechanic Theatre has been vacant since 2004, and demolition will begin in earnest once city review panels OK final designs for a $150 million mixed-use development. Daily Record photographer Maximilian Franz was allowed inside recently to capture the landmark as it nears its end.
