Bethesda-based Chindex opens hospital in China

Chindex International Inc., of Bethesda, a provider of Western health care products and services in China, announced the opening of its Beijing United Family Rehabilitation Hospital.

The world-class, 100-bed, 172,000-square-foot hospital in east Beijing is operated by United Family Healthcare, a network of private hospitals and affiliated ambulatory clinics that forms the health care services division of Chindex.

UFH has facilities in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuxi and Guangzhou.

At the opening ceremony, Gary Locke, the U.S. Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, said the rehabilitation facility “is a great example of how the U.S. and China can partner to provide high quality health care and advanced medical services.”
