Sellinger School grads top CPA exam

First-time certified public accountant candidates who graduated from Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management achieved the highest CPA exam pass rates of all first-time candidates who graduated from Maryland institutions.

According to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, 74.5 percent of 51 candidates with Sellinger School bachelor’s degrees passed the CPA exam the first time, more than 20 percent higher than the 2012 Maryland average of 52.9 percent.

First-time candidates with Sellinger School advanced degrees also scored the highest — with a pass rate of 73.5 percent — among candidates from other Maryland institutions.
