Four join Hope Connections for Cancer Support board

Tim Foster, Holly Funger, Sharon Glickman and James J. Lynch, Ph.D., have been elected to the board of directors of Hope Connections for Cancer Support.

Foster, a branch relationship manager and assistant vice president at EagleBank, has a multi-faceted position that encompasses sales development, management and development, customer service/customer retention and expansion. He is all too familiar with cancer, having grown up in Illinois with a mother that fought and beat both breast cancer and melanoma and is now a cancer-free survivor. Foster resides in Washington, D.C.

Holly Funger

Funger, LCSW-C is in private practice specializing in working with adolescents and young adults that are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, particularly as they affect school performance and social interactions. She worked for the past eight years as a counselor at St. Andrew’s Episcopal school and has helped the Community of Concern develop “Conversations That Count,” an interactive program for adolescents and their parents focusing on alcohol and drug abuse. Funger lives in Bethesda.

Sharon Glickman

Sharon Glickman

Glickman, of Glickman Associates, has more than 35 years of experience in the image consulting, fashion and personal presentation fields. Her full service image consulting and coaching firm does image makeovers using wardrobe enhancement as a springboard to improving communication skills, enriching personal growth and increasing motivation to help people achieve their personal and professional goals. Sharon is a colon cancer survivor who resides in McLean, Va.

James Lynch

James Lynch

Lynch, Ph.D., is the president/CEO of Social & Scientific Systems, a company whose mission is to improve public health worldwide by providing technical, research and program management services to government and other clients. Lynch has served on the board of directors of the Professional Services Council  from which he received their Outstanding Service Award in 2003. He holds a Ph.D. in English and is the author of several publications. He makes his home in Fairfax, Va.
