Water service restored after Baltimore main break

The Department of Public Works says water service has been restored after a main break in east Baltimore.

Officials say a 3-foot main broke on Holabird Avenue on Monday night, leaving thousands of customers from Canton and Highlandtown to Brooklyn Park and Curtis Bay without water or with low water pressure. Department spokesman Kurt Kocher says water service has been restored Tuesday afternoon, but there will be low pressure for many customers while a huge water tank is refilled.

Customers in the area are asked to continue conserving water through the day.
