Pamela J. Klahr, president and CEO of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, is leaving that position to become president and CEO of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, effective Sept. 9.
She succeeds Vanessa Milio, who took a post with Business Volunteers Maryland.
In her new position, Klahr will be responsible for advocating for businesses and building community partnerships, as well as planning events, marketing and generating income for the Harford chamber, one of the largest in Maryland.
The Harford chamber has about 760 members versus the Howard chamber’s 700 members.
Prior to her Howard County post, Klahr was vice president, membership services, for the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc.
