Lockheed picked for NATO HQ work

Lockheed Martin Corp., of Bethesda, also announced that it has been selected to design the active network infrastructure for the new headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels, Belgium.

The contract, worth more than $100 million, includes options under which Lockheed Martin may also be contracted to maintain the NATO network for five years.

The Lockheed team includes both U.S. and European companies, among them SELEX, Elsag, Prodata Systems, Dell, Microsoft and Cisco.

Lockheed’s prior experience in upgrading large military networks includes the Pentagon, Defense Information Systems Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Air Force.
