Eileen Straughan, of Straughan Environmental, has been named to the board of visitors of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
Straughan Environmental, a team of expert environmental planners, scientists and designers, provides sustainable environmental planning, permitting and design services to government and commercial clients.
Straughan has almost 30 years of experience in environmental science, planning, and design for transportation and land development projects. Her expertise is in water resource management and her passion is improving our ability to achieve water quality standards through implementation of low impact development strategies, innovative stormwater management techniques, and stream restoration.
The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science does research at five centers: the Appalachian Laboratory in Frostburg; the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons; the Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge; the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology in Baltimore; and the Maryland Sea Grant College in College Park.
