The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore has set a visitor milestone for the second year in a row.
The zoo said Thursday that it hosted more than 400,000 visitors in its 2013 fiscal year. The zoo says it has also seen growth in membership, event attendance and educational outreach beyond the zoo’s grounds.
The zoo is also celebrating its accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums last September. Accreditation is considered a mark of excellence for animal care and the zoo’s operations.
