Given OK, Rocky Gap starts poker

After Thursday’s controlled demonstration, Rocky Gap Casino Resort has been approved by the state to start offering poker, the casino announced Friday.

Rocky Gap had held the demonstration for the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.

The venue has immediately begun offering games at three poker tables with eight seats each in the hotel lobby. Rocky Gap’s poker tables are hosting Texas Hold ’em with both Limit and No Limit stakes.

Proceeds from the poker demonstration were donated to Volunteer Team Inc., the nonprofit organization that supports Rocky Gap State Park.
