Spectra Metal Sales moves into Capitol Heights

Atlanta-based Spectra Metal Sales Inc. recently signed a deal to lease 18,572 square feet of warehouse space for its rain-ware products at 8601 Ritchie Drive in Capitol Heights.

NAI KLNB’s Alan Coppola and Spencer Daw represented the tenant and Rob Foa of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Adler Group, the landlord.

Spectra Metal Sales markets unique weather-related coil and copper and steel accessories for customers throughout North America and the Caribbean Islands.

“Spectra Metal Sales maintains a strong and loyal customer following throughout the Baltimore-Washington corridor market and was searching for an expanded space to support its growing local operation,” Coppola said. “This building in Prince George’s County is adjacent to major highway systems and provides Spectra with a strategic position to service existing and attract new customers.”

KLNB Retail recently completed a spate of six separate leases for a total of about 10,000 square feet at The Shoppes at Shipley’s Grant in Columbia.

The deal, on behalf of Bavar Properties Group, brings the center to nearly full capacity.

New leases include: 2,500 square feet for Sylvan Learning Center, 1,476 square feet for Glamour Shots, 1,452 square feet for Peartree Dental, 1,460 square feet for Revolution Eyes, 1,460 square feet for Angel’s Cut Wine & Spirits and 1,459-square feet for Raimondi’s Florist. The shopping center is located on Maryland Route 108 near Snowden River Parkway.

“The Shoppes at Shipley’s Grant is designed to function as a community shopping center servicing the immediate neighborhoods, so a complementary mix of merchants offering a diverse mix of products and services is critical to the success of this type of development,” said Michael Patz, a principal with KLNB Retail.

BECO Management recently opened up its ninth fitness center in a facility that it runs, BECO Towers in Owings Mills.

So far, 180 tenants of the towers have signed up to use the facility — free of charge, according to the house rules. Hours are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Advisers at Cushman & Wakefield of Maryland Inc. recently worked to assist in a three-year, $19.8 million loan restructuring for the Maryland Executive Park in Towson.

The 206,144-square-foot retail and office park holds seven buildings, is located at 8501 LaSalle Road and includes Gino’s Burgers & Chicken and Applebee’s and Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Eagle Bank provided the financing.

Gideon Gil, Alexander Hernandez and Sridhar Vankayala of Cushman & Wakefield worked the deal.

“The property has great value-add opportunity with strong in-place cash flow, along with a first-tier sponsorship with deep operating expertise in the mid-Atlantic, which was very appealing to the lending community and attracted a substantial amount of interest,” Gil said in a statement.
