Federal prosecutors say 26 people have been indicted on charges that include racketeering and drug charges in connection with violence in the Cherry Hill section of Baltimore.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the indictments were unsealed Tuesday.
U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said at a news conference that rival drug gangs have terrorized the neighborhood, resulting in five slayings and numerous shootings and robberies.
He said 15 are alleged to be members of the Up the Hill gang who took part in a conspiracy to distribute heroin, powder and crack cocaine, and oxycodone.
Officials say 11 suspects had been arrested.
