Never let it be said that Sen. Barbara Mikulski isn’t down for a good fight even if it’s just on Twitter about one of her state universities in the upcoming FCS championship game.
Mikulski and Sen. Ben Cardin were called out Thursday afternoon by Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota. The subject: How the Bison of North Dakota State University were going to throw the Towson University Tigers a beating in Frisco, Tx on Saturday.
“I hope you wished @TowsonU good luck. They are going to need it Saturday vs @NDSUathletics. #NDSUFrisco,” Heitkamp tweeted.
Mikulski roared back from her own account and even dragged North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven into the fray.
“@SenatorHeitkamp & @SenJohnHoeven. Wishful thinking. Know @TowsonU Tigers will trounce @NDSU Bison!,” Mikulsi tweeted back, ending her message with “#FightOn.”
Indeed.
Hoeven and Cardin so far have yet to weigh in. No word on whether or not the senators have a side wager. Might we suggest crab cakes and bison burgers?
Fight, fight, Tigers fight.
