New wind energy funding plan launched

The Maryland Energy Administration announced a new grant program aimed at supporting Maryland companies that seek to enter the offshore wind industry.

The Market Entry Assistance Grant Program is the first initiative to originate from the Offshore Wind Business Development Fund, and is designed to help Maryland businesses, including minority firms, become integral participants in the global offshore wind market.

Under the program, MEA will provide two types of funding: Administrative Costs Grants up to $25,000 to cover organizational needs; and Capital Equipment and Facilities Upgrades Grants up to $500,000 to support significant equipment investments.
