Baltimore Co., FOP reach labor accord

Baltimore County has reached a negotiated agreement with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4 representing more than 1,800 county police officers, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz announced Friday.

The agreement, which must be ratified by the full membership, extends through June 30, 2016, and is the last of nine labor accords reached between the county and its employee bargaining units.

Among its provisions, the pact provides a 3 percent bonus in November for all FOP Lodge #4 members on the payroll as of Oct. 1, 2014; no layoffs or furloughs through June 30, 2016, and higher pension contributions for certain Police Department personnel hired on or after July 1, 2014.
