Vivint Solar Inc., a residential solar energy provider that currently employs over 100 people at its branch office in Beltsville, announced it will hire another 85 in the North Baltimore and Frederick areas.
The Provo, Utah-based company said it will enlarge its presence in those two areas of Maryland, but did not give details of its planned expansion.
Vivint uses a power purchase agreement model, under which it designs, installs, monitors and services the residential solar system, with no out-of-pocket cost to the homeowner.
The customer pays for the energy produced by the photovoltaic system, often at a lower rate than charged by the local utility.
