More companies are hiring caterers and event planners for their corporate events, according to the Columbia-based National Association for Catering and Events.
In a survey conducted by NACE, nearly half of respondents said that overall revenues were better or significantly better at this point in the year, compared to the same time period in 2013.
And more than half said that they were booking more events so far than in 2013.
Corporate events are outpacing weddings and other types of social events, and are seen as having the greatest potential for growth for the remainder of 2014.
“We are hearing … that this will be a record year for many in the catering and event industry,” said NACE Executive Director Bonnie Fedchock.
