Charlestown facility earns CMS’ top-quality rating

Renaissance Gardens, the assisted living and skilled nursing care facility at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville,  achieved a Five-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency’s highest rating for nursing homes.

The continuing care facility excelled in three areas reviewed by CMS: health inspections; quality measures; and staffing.

CMS’ Nursing Home Compare website gives each nursing home a rating of between one and five stars.

Of 225 facilities in Maryland listed on the Compare website, 67 — approximately 30 percent — are rated as Five-Star Quality. More than 17,000 facilities nationwide are rated on the website for quality of care.
