Hughes contract expands in Texas

Hughes Network Systems LLC, of Germantown, a provider of broadband satellite systems and services, announced it has been awarded an expanded contract by the State of Texas Department of Information Resources for its offerings under the Texas Agency Network Next Generation Communications Technology Services program. Under the modification, Hughes can offer bandwidth tokens for small office/home office (SOHO) Internet; redeployable satellites for fixed satellite services (FSS); and move, add, change (MAC) services for both SOHO and FSS. The five-year multiple award contract supports the communications needs of more than 600 entities in Texas — from councils of government and school districts to publicly funded organizations.
