Choice Hotels International Inc., of Rockville, a franchiser with more than 6,300 hotels in the United States and over 35 other countries, reported an 11 percent increased profit for the second quarter. Net income was $35.4 million, or 60 cents per diluted share, from $31.8 million and 54 cents in the prior-year period. Franchising revenues for the quarter totaled $93.8 million, an increase of 8 percent from $86.9 million during the same period of 2013.
