Baltimore County group honored by Samaritan Women

The Baltimore County Commission for Women was recently honored by the nonprofit organization Samaritan Women as Maryland Abolitionists of the Year for its efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking in the state. The commission was cited for its “Power of the Purse” fundraising campaign, which encourages women to donate gently used purses to benefit the Samaritan Women’s Restoration Home, which provides services to individuals harmed by domestic human trafficking.
