Under Armour may have missed out on NBA star Kevin Durant, but the Baltimore-based brand now has Gisele Bundchen on its team, ESPN reports.
It’s a multi-year deal, ESPN writes, but financial terms were not disclosed.
Bundchen is primarily famous as a fashion model, but is also a producer and actress. She is the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme. Her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, is already an Under Armour endorser.
While Bundchen is not known for athletic pursuits, she fits into Under Armour’s efforts to target the female consumer. The company is currently promoting its women’s products as a part of a brand holiday, and earlier this year it signed ballerina Misty Copeland to endorse the brand.
The news of Bundchen’s deal comes on the heels of Kevin Durant’s decision to sign once again with Nike, despite reports that he was considering a move to Under Armour.
The Maryland native had reportedly been offered between $265 million and $285 million to endorse Under Armour, but Nike took advantage of its privilege to make a counter offer.
