Plank on board for D.C. Olympic bid

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank is among the 17 board members announced Thursday for a group seeking to bring the Olympics to Washington in 2024. Other board members for nonprofit Washington 2024 include former District of Columbia Mayor Anthony Williams and former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, along with businesswoman Sheila Johnson, Washington Nationals owner Mark Lerner and chef Jose Andres. Washington is one of four U.S. finalists to bid for the 2024 Olympics, along with Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The U.S. Olympic Committee will decide early next year whether to pursue a bid for the games and would select a city at that time. A Washington Olympics would likely include venues in Baltimore and the metro area.
