Northrop Grumman picked for radar contract

Northrop Grumman Corp., the global security company in Linthicum, announced it has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for an $11.9 million contract to develop advanced wideband digital antenna technology for next generation radio frequency sensors using active electronically scanned arrays, known as AESAs. AESA radar systems send radio waves from a set of modules. Northrup Grumman has produced AESAs used in fighter jets, among other applications.
