TCS’ contract with Marines extended

TeleCommunication Systems Inc., of Annapolis, a provider of mobile communication technology, on Thursday announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency has exercised the first option year for services to the Marine Corps, worth $13.7 million. Under the contract extension, which runs through July 31, TCS will continue to provide Ku satellite bandwidth, terrestrial support and 24-hour support services for the Marine Corps’ Tactical Satellite Communications Network. The additional $13.7 million funding covers the first option year term, for the period from August 1, 2014 through July 31, 2015.
