Harford County executive vetoes his raise

Harford County Executive David R. Craig this week vetoed a bill that would have raised the county executive’s salary to $130,000. In 2010 and 2011, Craig turned back his scheduled pay raise to the county, and he has proposed that the executive not receive any raise larger by percentage than that given to Harford County employees. In a statement, Craig said: “If the council chooses to override this executive veto, I feel that the next county executive should remit the increase or the next council should repeal the legislation if they truly value the work of the employees.”
