Total Wine wins community service award

Market Watch, a national alcohol beverage industry publication, has recognized the community outreach efforts of Total Wine & More by presenting the company with the 2014 Market Watch Alumni Award for Community Service. In 2013, the Potomac-based company donated in-kind and monetary contributions in excess of $4 million to more than 4,200 local charities in 16 states.  Charitable donations of products helped the recipient organizations raise over $25 million in 2013 to support their programs, Total Wine said.  Contributions went to local branches of national organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, American Heart Association and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and to community groups. Total Wine sells wine, beer and spirits in 107 stores in 16 states.
