Inner Harbor icon shines again

About 200 people gathered recently at Tabrizi’s to celebrate the re-lighting of an Inner Harbor icon, The HarborView Towers’ Beacon.

Local elected officials including Del. Peter Hammen, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Councilman William Cole IV came together with The HarborView Tower Council of Unit Owners to help flip the switch and unveil a state-of-the-art light show that will be seen from neighborhoods across the city and by people traveling on I-95.

The Towers’ Beacon, a glass enclosure located on the top of the building, rises 30 stories above the Harbor and is visible from miles away.  The new light show will be similar to the show at the Empire State Building in New York City and will feature a variety of themes related to various holidays such as Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas; Orioles and Ravens’ wins; city celebrations including the recent Star-Spangled Spectacular; and a Maryland-themed show to light up the night.
