Baltimore-based law firm Ober|Kaler has awarded $45,000 in grants to four nonprofit community organizations dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk youth in the Baltimore-Washington region. The following received $10,000 grants: Living Classrooms Foundation Fresh Start Program, DC Diaper Bank Diaper Distribution/Baby Pantry, Hope House Father to Child Reading Program. The Capital Area Food Bank’s Weekend Bag Program was awarded a $15,000 special grant with a volunteer supplement. The Food Bank distributes healthy non-perishable food on Fridays to schoolchildren in Washington who are at risk of hunger over the weekend. The Ober|Kaler Community Grants Program was established in 2003. Grant recipients are chosen by the firm’s principals, associates and staff members.
