Gas at four-year low, of Gaithersburg, which tracks gasoline prices nationwide, says prices at the pump are at their lowest in four years heading into the busy Thanksgiving traveling week. GasBuddy says 85 percent of the gas in the U.S. is selling for under $3 a gallon, compared with 14 percent last Thanksgiving. On Monday, the average national price was $2.80. “Given the inventory reported by the Department of Energy and the supply build following last week’s snowstorms, we anticipate that retail gas prices in most parts of the country will show another decline this week, even though millions of us will be driving for Thanksgiving,” Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy, said a news release. “It may seem counter-intuitive, but it has been a very usual year.”
