Baltimore disabilities groups merge

The League for People with Disabilities and The Snyder Center for Aphasia Life Enhancement, both of Baltimore, recently merged, the organizations announced. The latter is now known as SCALE at The League, as a new division of The League’s programs and services for individuals with disabilities. Aphasia is a language disorder that impairs the expression and understanding of spoken language, reading and writing.  It occurs most often from a stroke or brain injury. David A. Greenberg, CEO of The League, said in a statement: “We are extremely fortunate to add SCALE’s pioneering staff to The League leadership team, and we look forward to unifying our efforts in reaching out to the thousands of underserved individuals with aphasia and their families in the metropolitan area.”
