Jessica Brown

Children’s Services Coordinator

Enoch Pratt Free Library

Jessica Brown’s goal is to make lifelong learners of the children of Baltimore city.

She is the children’s services coordinator at Enoch Pratt Free Library and supervises 25 employees. Together they create children’s programs designed to interest all children in reading. It sometimes even changes a child’s life.

“Any person, regardless of where they’re walking in from, can have that sparking transformational experience,” she said.

Brown, 30, earned her master’s of library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating, she moved to the Brentwood Public Library before being hired at Enoch Pratt in 2010.

“I think what’s great about the library is that it’s just this equalizer for everyone,” Brown said.
