As manager of domestic violence and human trafficking policy for the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention, Amanda K. Rodriguez aims to be a voice for those who are underrepresented.

“Human trafficking is a crime that often is seen but invisible because of a lack of awareness,” Rodriguez said. “I have made it my goal to ensure that if a person is trafficked in Maryland, they will be identified and recovered. If they touch a governmental system, they will be given services instead of criminalized and their traffickers will be brought to justice. I have made this my life’s work, and I will do whatever it takes to make it a reality.”

Rodriguez is a member of the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force and serves on the law enforcement, steering, legislative and training committees.

“In my life, I have pushed and struggled to be the best I can be and give the most I can to issues I am passionate about,” she said. “I work through problems. I do not succumb to them.”
