DERRYL WALKER v. STATE OF MARYLAND

A jury in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City found appellant, Derryl Walker, guilty of first degree rape, first degree sex offense, second degree assault, unnatural or perverted practice, and reckless endangerment. This appeal asks us to determine whether Walker was entitled to a new trial because of newly discovered evidence asserted to be related to the impeachment of a key witness for the State and because of allegedly erroneous evidentiary rulings by the trial court. Additionally, Walker argues that the circuit court failed to merge certain of his convictions, resulting in an illegal sentence.
