EMILIO OSORIO-OSORIO v. STATE OF MARYLAND

A jury in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County convicted appellant of attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, and first degree assault. The court merged the latter two convictions into the first and sentenced appellant to life imprisonment, all but 25 years of which was suspended in favor of five years probation upon his release. Restitution in the amount of $20,590 also was ordered.

In this appeal, appellant complains (1) that the evidence was legally insufficient to sustain the attempted first degree murder conviction, and (2) that the prosecutor engaged in improper closing argument that resulted in an unfair trial.
