Goodwill adds building downtown

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake recently purchased a building in downtown Baltimore in order to expand services to unemployed and underemployed city residents. The new building is located at 32 South Street. Goodwill headquarters will remain at 222 E. Redwood St. The new building is less than a block away. Goodwill plans to offer more job training and placement services to those with physical disabilities, those dependent on government assistance and those recently released from the prison system. “This was an ideal opportunity for Goodwill since real estate in the heart of downtown is difficult to obtain,” Lisa Rusyniak, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake president and CEO, said in a statement. “The buildings’ close proximity to our headquarters enables our program participants to access our full continuum of services, which are typically successive and interdependent, in an easily accessible, central location.”
