A. Bright Idea Advertising & Public Relations
As president and founder of A. Bright Idea Advertising and Public Relations, an advertising, public relations and graphic design agency, Anita A. Brightman brings her creative and strategic approach to advertising and public relations, blending verbal and visual communication to build brands and public outreach.
She was inducted into the Public Relations Society of America’s College of Fellows in 2014. Brightman’s clients span industry, small business, nonprofit, and government.
Throughout her career, Brightman designed and implemented strategic, impactful programs that included all aspects of public relations, ranging from message development and crisis communications to community engagement, employee communications and media relations. She has successfully worked with a wide variety of organizations, from corporations, B2B professional service companies and small businesses to nonprofit and governmental organizations — including more than 20 years supporting the U.S. Army chemical weapons disposal program.
Brightman also approaches her own business strategically. Growth and expansion during the past 18 years has been measured, intentional and reflective of the agency’s strategic business plan. In 2011, she opened a second location in northern California and has since expanded the agency’s office space at its Maryland headquarters to create a creative campus in Bel Air for the marketing, web and multimedia and graphic design teams. The agency team employs 40 people.
Brightman also gives back to the profession and to the community by contributing to various associations, including serving as a member of the board of directors for the Public Relations Society of America Maryland chapter and First National Bank community advisory board. She also gives back to many community organizations and nonprofits through charitable contributions and pro bono services.
